ETH Zurich still provides the teacher-training in Sports as a supplementary training to the Bachelor/Master degree in Health Sciences and Technology (or Movement Sciences and Sport). There are qualification assessments for practical sporting aptitude (usually during the first Bachelor year).

Students have to fulfil an additional requirement of 60 credit points in didactics which for the most part are obtained after the Bachelor diploma and can partially be taken in the Health Sciences and Technology curriculum.

In addition, a minimum of 46 credit points from practical sports lectures have to be completed, which can also be partially taken within the curriculum of Health Sciences and Technology. Therefore, the teacher-training takes place during and after the Bachelor and Master programmes.

The ETH Teacher’s Diploma in Sports is a mono-subject formation. Biology is the realistic choice as a second subject but has to be accomplished through additional subject-specific credit points.
