Regl. 2016: Structure of the Bachelor's programme

The Bachelor's programme comprises natural science, engineering, social and food science subjects amounting to 180 credit points (CP).

In the first year, the courses in Agricultural Sciences and Food Science are coordinated with each other. Specialization in Food Science begins in the second year of study. In the third year of study, food science students specialize and determine the direction for the major in the Master programme.

In each category the following number of credit poins have to be acquired in the 2nd and 3rd year of study:

  • Food Science subjects: 32 CP
  • Food Science basic subjects: 19 CP
  • Food Science laboratory training: 11 CP

Lectures are usually held in German. Information about language requirements

Bachelor's Degree

The Bachelor's degree qualifies students to continue with the Master's programme and enables mobility between universities and degree programmes (see Mobility). The Bachelor's diploma qualifies as an undergraduate university degree. However, for full academic and professional qualification, a Master degree is required.
