Regl. 2017: Structure of the Master's study programme
The degree Master of Science ETH in Food Science allows graduates to enter the working world or to continue their education within the framework of a doctorate.
Start of the Master's study programme
Students with a Bachelor’s degree from ETH Zurich in Food Science who enter directly into the Master’s degree programme may start the Master’s degree programme in the spring or in the autumn semester. All other students can start the Master’s degree programme in the autumn semester only.
Structure of the Master's study programme
Majors
The professional competency is defined by the Major. The following Majors are available:
- Food Processing
- Food Quality and Safety
- Nutrition and Health
- Human Health, Nutrition and Environment
Minors and Electives
In addition to the selected Major, personal preferences can be selected as follows:
- Choice of one Minor and Electives, or
- Choice of two Minors
Master's thesis
The Master study programme is terminated by a Master's thesis.
Credit points
Voluntary Internship
A professional internship is an optional part of the Master study programme.
